Planning
Getting There
Lots of ways to get there, and being just 150km from Oslo Airport, it is probably the closest decent sized ski resort in Norway for Foreigners.
By Car: It is about a 2.5 hr drive ... just simply follow the E6 North untill you reach Lillehammer ... keep following it for another 15km until you see a sign to Hafjell and voila! You are there!
By Bus: There are loads from Oslo and (I think) Gardemoen, Oslo Airport.
By Train: Catch train from Oslo Airport or Oslo Sentrum (Main train station) to Lillehammer and then catch a bus which departs fairly regullarly during the day
Accommodation
On Mountain
Typically Norwegian Hytte's (cabins) which are self catering and privately owned. Awesome places to stay ... if you can find someone who has one (or work for a company that does!)
The Hafjell and Lillehammer region offers their guests a wide range of accommodation alternaitives. Choose between cosy cabins and modern hotels.
In Hafjell you can stay ski out/ski in or go for a more urban atmosphere in ine of the charming Lillehammer hotels where you can take the winter bus to and from the resort. The bus is a "green" as well as a comfortable way of getting to the ski centre, and it gives you an extra sense of holiday when yo can park the car for a few days.
