The closest ski resort to Melbourne. A family-friendly resort. Perfect to 'experience' snow. One of the most-extensive cross-country trail networks in the world.
Because of its low altitude, snow can be marginal in poor years, and at the start and end of a season. However, Lake Mountain has a reputation as a spring mountain, so don't discount skiing there until well into October in a good year.

Reflects Melbourne's weather, while much colder. The weather can change quickly, so be prepared. Spring weather is much nicer than Winter weather in terms of sunny days rather than those miserable cold days. But remember to be prepared.
