Overview

Les Menuires has a reputation for being ugly - big concrete rectangles like multi-storey car parks standing out of the snow (and competing with Flaine and Tignes for the 'ugliest in the French Alps' title). It also has a reputation for being one of the most functional ski resorts in the world and for offering the best value in the world's largest ski area - Les Trois Vallees - cheaper than Courchevel and Meribel but well placed none the less to make the most of the area.

The resort has 48 restaurants, 39 ski lifts and 62 trails. The resort has advanced ski slopes and beginner slopes. The resort also hosted some of the games of the 1992 Winter Olympics.

The resort was founded in 1964 and has an altitude range of 1.85kilometers.
