- Overview
Mt Lyford is great for skiing. The view from the top tow is amazing. I could see all the way from the North Island down to Bank Pennisula and out towards Nelson and Hanmer Springs.

Location
North Canterbury. 2 hours from ChCh, 1 hour from Hanmer (approx)
Pros
A great 'family' field close to Hanmer & without the high prices (and crowds) of down south.
Cons
They blatently lie on the snow report about the amount of new snow & who knows how they claim a vertical of 450m. Also the lift layout is pretty messy.
